Heather Richards Bio
Singer/Songwriter/Performer
Heather Richards is an American singer-songwriter originating from the picturesque Adirondack Hills in Upstate New York, embroiders together Traditional Country, Bluegrass, and Americana genres, infusing a vintage charm into her authentic musical canvas.
Her compositions echo timeless melodies, a reflection of her deep-rooted connection to the serene beauty of nature and the Adirondack mountain vibes. A dedicated advocate of her patchwork style of songwriting, she truly embodies the spirit of the Adirondack Songbird.
Her musical journey began in childhood, where her father taught her guitar and she started crafting songs at the tender age of ten. She honed her skills by playing at local bluegrass festivals and Sunday gatherings in VFWs showcasing her talent to the community. During her youth, she became a regular presence in her parents' band, eventually joining the acclaimed group "Ghostrider" before making a bold movement to Nashville, where she resided for three years. Despite achieving chart success with hits like "Apple Tree" and "Sweet Romance,”she recognized that city life proved challenging for a young female teen fresh out of high school, along with personally not feeling prepared, prompting her to return back to her hometown.
In 2003, Heather earned the title of Female Vocalist of the Year from the Northeast Country Music Association. Throughout her career, Heather has remained steadfast in her commitment to songwriting, expressing, "I love to perform, but songwriting has always been my passion."
Having graced stages across the United States with thousands of performances over the years, Heather remains committed to her craft. As far as the next chapter, her current and future endeavors involve being dedicated to writing and performing full-time, declaring emphatically, "Now is the time."
